The continuing education (CE) cycle for North Dakota licensees is 9 hours annually. Licensees must complete 9 hours of CE prior to renewing their licenses (no later than November 15th of each year). There is NOT a grace period for completing your education. If you do not have the required number of hours for an active license you need to renew to the inactive status until you have completed the required education.
Keep in mind that the continuing education hours you use to activate an inactive license cannot be used to meet the 9 hours of continuing education required annually.
There is no mandatory course topic for the current CE cycle November 16, 2020 through November 15, 2021. All courses are elective.
New salespersons who completed the 45-hour pre-licensure course must take 15 hours of post-licensure within the first year of licensing. New salespersons who completed the 90-hour pre-licensure course must take 9 hours of CE by November 15th of the first year of licensing, but do not need to take any post-licensure hours.
